The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor is a 12 part anime OVA loosely based on Yoshiki Takaya's manga, Bio-Booster Armor Guyver. It was released in Japan from 1989 to 1992. It is the second animated adaptation, following the 1986 OVA Guyver: Out of Control.

Season 1 - The Guyver: Bio-Booster Armor
1989-09-25
The 3 Guyver units are stolen from the enigmatic Chronos Corporation in Japan. Guyver 1 is accidentally discovered by a young student, Sho Fukamachi, who triggers the units control mechanism. Transformed into the Guyver, he battles against the bio-morphic Zoanoids controlled by Chronos.

Determined to recover the stolen Guyvers, Chronos' headquarters dispatch an agent to confront Sho. But as the young student is about to be abducted, the agent is involuntarily transformed into Guyver II: a fighting unit, specially trained for combat. Sho's only hope is to summon the Guyver, thus thrusting the two mechas into deadly battle for survival.

Commander Gyou arrives from Chronos' headquarters to lead the recovery of the Guyver units. Meanwhile, Chronos Japan creates the Hyper Zoanoid "Zerebus" in a desperate attempt to eliminate the Guyver. To bait the trap, sho's girlfriend is kidnapped and Sho must once again become the Guyver and face challenge of Zerubus and the mysterious shadow, Guyver III.

But before they have a chance, Commander Gyou attacks with Chronos' five most powerful Hyper Zoanoids. The desperate Commander Gyou commands his men to transform Makishama, the head of Chronos Japan, into a Zoanoid armed with an enzyme capable of disintegrating the Guyver armor. To force a confrontation with Sho, Gyou has both his girlfriend and her brother kidnapped. They are taken to the mountains and forced to watch as Sho and the transmutated Makishama fight in a battle to the death!

Mizuki and Tetsuro are imprisoned under heavy guard at Chronos' headquarters. With Sho believed dead, Tetsuro fears the worst as he begins to comprehend the enormous power of Chronos. But can Guyver 1 regenerate his control metal in time to save his girlfriend and her brother?

Having destroyed the evil Commander Gyou and his branch of the Chronos organization, the Guyver's battle to defeat them has only just begun. Chronos' leading scientist, Dr. Balcus, takes command and devises a plan to destroy the Guyver, using Sho's father, Tetsuro and Mizuki as the focus of his attack. Fearing for their lives, Sho fights dangerously along side his mysterious new ally, Murakami, in a desperate attempt to protect his friends from death.

Sho's horrifying nightmare continues as he heads for Chronos headquarters at Mount Minakami, where death threatens Mizuki and his father. Spying on Sho's every move, Dr. Balcus decides to test out his research and orders the "Lost Units" - Enzymes with unlimited powers - to challenge and destroy the Guyver. Will the Guyver have the strength to defeat them?

Faced with this moral dilemma, will the Guyver fight back and kill his father to save his own life?

Sho and his friends, desperate to escape Mount Minikami, work out an escape route. Guyver III returns to Chronos to intercept Dr. Baclus' evil plans to destroy the Guyver, but is in serious danger when the secret of his identity is revealed. Meanwhile, Sho and the others have fallen into Dr. Balcus' trap having arrived at a village full of Zoanoids controlled by Balcus. Traumatized by his father's death, Sho is unable to transform into the Guyver. Will he fail to save himself and his friends from the evil that surrounds them?

Hiding from the evil clutches of Dr. Balcus, Sho and his friends are in constant danger of attack from Zoanoids in the surrounding area. Agito is desperate to know the dark, deep secrets of the Chronos organization and persuades Murakami to reveal all he knows, beginning with who created the Guyver and Zoanoids, right up until the horror of the present day. Finally the terrifying truth is disclosed.
